Hello community supporters!
We’re organizing our first ever epic queer dance party fundraiser to raise start-up funds for Plan B. If you have any items or products you would like to donate from your business, work or self, we would be very grateful for donations for raffles and door prizes!
Plan B is an in formation non-profit worker co-operative located in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, aiming at establishing an alternative queer community space by queer folks for queer folks. We’re aiming to merge three key elements in our daily operations: resource centre, coffee shop, and feminist body-positive sex toy store. We are going to offer a people’s photocopier, a resource library, a community space, and an alternative education space for queer bodies. Then, after we’re established we will create a foundation to fund the unfundable: help fund queer and trans persons in travel accommodations for doctor visits, prescription expenses, and general life needs.
This is a call to act. If we want to do this, we need your help. We need:
– Door prize items, anything and everything!
– Raffle items, anything and everything!
– Decorations: streamers, ribbons, balloons, etc.
– Volunteers day of to decorate, manage the door
– Funding to make this happen
The entire construct of Plan B is by the community for the community. We exist solely on community involvement and active participation. To create something, we need support by donations and sponsorships.
How the event will look:
In late September, we’re getting fancy and hitting the town. Location to be announced. Advanced tickets available. Sliding scale entrance fee (all to be made public very soon).
All advanced tickets buys you an arm’s length of raffle tickets. You’re basically prepaying for raffle tickets! The event is all ages but alcohol will be available at a cash bar. There will be a sober space in the corner! More information to come, just felt like a little tease was necessary.
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have donations, sponsorship ideas, or would like to volunteer!
